{"id":135,"date":"2016-11-23T05:12:59","date_gmt":"2016-11-23T05:12:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/davidwilsonupnorth.com\/?p=135"},"modified":"2016-11-23T05:12:59","modified_gmt":"2016-11-23T05:12:59","slug":"an-open-letter-to-all-of-the-traumatized-clinton-democrat-college-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kyledwilson.com\/davidwilsonupnorth.com\/2016\/11\/23\/an-open-letter-to-all-of-the-traumatized-clinton-democrat-college-students\/","title":{"rendered":"An Open Letter to All of the Traumatized Clinton-Democrat College Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-136\" src=\"https:\/\/kyledwilson.com\/davidwilsonupnorth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/flag.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"flag\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyledwilson.com\/davidwilsonupnorth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/flag.jpg 600w, https:\/\/kyledwilson.com\/davidwilsonupnorth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/flag-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dear Clinton-Democrat College Students,<\/p>\n<p>For the past 18 months, you enthusiastically proclaimed you were going to put an end to racism, sexism, bigotry, income inequality, animal cruelty, student debt, and poverty.\u00a0 You were going to \u201cheal\u201d the climate and save the planet.\u00a0 You were going to open America to all who simply wanted a better life, and enhance our country with inclusiveness, tolerance, and diversity.\u00a0 You were going to give high-paying jobs, quality healthcare and free college educations to everyone.\u00a0 You trumpeted your individual and collective strength, your commitment to your mission, your readiness to rise up and change the world!!!<\/p>\n<p>Right up until about 3am on November 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Since then we have seen from you pretty much one thing, and that is just how incredibly FRAIL you are.\u00a0 You need puppies, and crayons, and Play-Doh, and safe rooms to protect you from further &#8220;triggers&#8221; and micro-aggressions.\u00a0 You need counselors, and private time, and unconditional empathy in order to cope with your collective fear and unprecedented disappointment.\u00a0 You also seem to need public forums, and targets at whom to direct your outrage.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have the energy to attend class, much less take exams, but you do have the energy to yell in the face of anyone with whom you disagree, to attack police officers, and destroy public and private property.\u00a0 One after another you seek out any microphone and camera in order to tell the world how you are sick to your stomach, unaccepting of reality, unable to sleep and absolutely afraid.\u00a0 Aren\u2019t you even the least bit embarrassed by all of this?\u00a0 Weakened and afraid?\u00a0 Come on.<\/p>\n<p>Life is hard.\u00a0 Period.\u00a0 Successful, effective, independent and rewarding life is even harder.\u00a0 And by the way, this is still, more than any other country in the world, the Land of Opportunity.\u00a0 It was never supposed to be the Land of Entitlement, much less the Land of I Always Get My Way, especially if I threaten to yell a lot on social or mainstream media.<\/p>\n<p>Boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen\u2026 grow up.\u00a0 Understand the disparity between simply making a commotion, and actually making a difference.\u00a0 Show America you are capable of being more than just victims.\u00a0 Between the ages of 19 and 27, I \u201csuffered\u201d through three Presidential elections, standing on the losing side of every one. \u00a0In two of those elections our generations\u2019 chosen candidates got CREAMED!!, the race being over before the 11 o\u2019clock news.\u00a0 We watched it, and bitched about it, and were totally bummed out.\u00a0 We swore a little bit, and a few might have even hit the bottle or the bong.\u00a0 And then the next day we got up and went to class and back to work, hoping for better in four years.\u00a0 We disagreed with the opposition\u2019s platform just as strongly as you do, but we weren\u2019t afraid, much less incapacitated because we lost.\u00a0 We believed we were strong enough and smart enough to persevere through whatever lay ahead, and together, we survived and even prospered despite our then-perceived impending doom.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;, IF you are so damn right, and concerned, and noble, and smart, then stand up and get busy promoting your platform in a manner that at least garners some measure of respect, and maybe even acceptance.\u00a0 Be confident, even courageous!\u00a0 With integrity and civility, convince the majority of the electorate that your way is best for all, not just for you.\u00a0 And if you encounter resistance, then either improve the quality and delivery of your message, or move on.<\/p>\n<p>One final note: it\u2019s just my opinion, but I think you are much more likely to get others to give your platform serious, respectful consideration if you were to spend less time and energy calling them racist, sexist, hateful, bigoted, radical, uncaring, clueless, homophobic, environmentally irresponsible, heartless, fascist, privileged, and\/or deplorable. \u00a0Let\u2019s just call each other \u201cAmericans,\u201d better yet\u2026 Fellow Americans.\u00a0 And if you are not comfortable with that characterization, then perhaps you should take it upon yourself to leave the USA and go to school elsewhere. \u00a0Unless of course, you are afraid\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Clinton-Democrat College Students, For the past 18 months, you enthusiastically proclaimed you were going to put an end to racism, sexism, bigotry, income inequality, animal cruelty, student debt, and poverty.\u00a0 You were going to \u201cheal\u201d the climate and save the planet.\u00a0 You were going to open America to all who simply wanted a better &hellip;
